Yukon Solitaire is a variation of the classic Klondike Solitaire game. The goal is to build four foundations from Ace to King. Unlike Klondike, Yukon doesn’t have a stock pile, and all the cards are dealt at the beginning. Additionally, you can move cards even if they are covered by other cards.
How to Play Yukon Solitaire
Rules
- Tableau piles are built down in suit by alternating color (e.g., a 9♥️ on a 10♠).
- You are allowed to move any card along with all the cards covering it.
- Only King or sequences of cards starting with a King can be placed in an empty tableau spot.
- Foundations are built up in the same suit from Ace to King.
Objective
The objective of Yukon Solitaire is to move all cards to the four foundation piles.
Setup
Yukon Solitaire uses a standard 52-card deck. Here’s how the game is set up:
- There are 7 tableau piles. The first pile is dealt 1 card face up. The second pile is dealt 6 cards, with the first card face down and the rest face up. Each subsequent pile receives one more card than the previous pile, with one additional card dealt face down. For example, the third pile is dealt 7 cards with the first two cards face down, the fourth pile is dealt 8 cards with the first three cards face down, and so on.
- There are 4 empty foundations.
- Unlike Klondike, there is no stock pile.
Variations
- Russian Solitaire - same as Yukon but tableau piles are built down in the same suit.
