Russian Solitaire is a variation of the Yukon Solitaire game. The rules are identical to Yukon, but tableau piles must be built down in the same suit**.**
How to Play Russian Solitaire
Rules
Russian Solitaire rules are almost identical to Yukon Solitaire with one difference(highlighted):
- Tableau piles are built down in the same suit (e.g., a 9♠ on a 10♠).
- You are allowed to move any card along with all the cards covering it.
- Only King or sequences of cards starting with a King can be placed in an empty tableau spot.
- Foundations are built up in the same suit from Ace to King.
Objective
The objective of Russian Solitaire is to move all cards to the four foundation piles, building each pile up in suit from Ace to King.
Setup
Russian Solitaire setup is identical to Yukon Solitaire setup:
- There are 7 tableau piles.
- The first tableau pile is dealt 1 card face up.
- The second tableau pile is dealt 6 cards, with the first card face down and the remaining cards face up.
- Each subsequent tableau pile is dealt one additional card, with an increasing number of face-down cards at the beginning of each pile. For example, the third pile is dealt 7 cards, with the first 2 cards face down and the remaining cards face up.
Variations
- Yukon Solitaire - same as Russian Solitaire but tableau piles are built in alternating color.
